Wool, as a medium, opens up huge new doors for me. Growing up, wool and yarns were always around me as most of the women in my family were knitters. I have always been drawn to the vast spectrum of colours and textures of wool but I have had to leave making sweaters for someone else. And so began my attempt at painting with wool. Knitting, felting and weaving are ancient techniques that I use in my woollen paintings. There is no pattern to follow and it is completely freeform. I find myself fully able to create something very original and unique in this manner. I have only just begun my Felted Wool Paintings so please check back often to see my newest endeavor.
