What is a Chaplet?
A chaplet is a non-rosary devotion consisting of a series of prayers. A string of beads, also called a chaplet is used to aid in praying the devotion. Chaplets continue to be popular even after the invention of the rosary we are familiar with today. My list of chaplets continues to grow and I am always open to creating new strands. Several chaplets already exist, handed down through generations. However, I am continually inspired to create my own chaplets pairing beads with traditional Catholic prayers. The more popular saints have a chaplet in their name, however, the lesser known saints may not. This has lead me to create chaplets for those saints, using Catholic prayers, scripture readings and faith-based historical texts.
When using prayer beads, you are always praying to Jesus. “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by Me”. (John 14:6) You are asking Our Lady, the Holy Spirit or a Saint to intercede on your behalf, to help you in your time of need. Mary and the Saints understand the difficulties in life. They were tested through what they suffered and are able to help you, when you find yourself being tested.
Each chaplet is an important prayer tool in which the faithful focus on a certain Saint or the Blessed Virgin Mary. However, It must be stated that at no time is this valuable meditation tool used to worship Mary or the Saints, as some erroneously believe. It is a tool that honours them.

Chaplet of the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit – $14
For Confirmation (Children Grade 7)
Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, you are completing your commitment to Christ that began at your Baptism, making you adults in the Faith. These gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit help guide us throughout our lifetime.
I was inspired to give new life to this bead strand using more modern day vocabulary that would appeal to our young people during their time of Confirmation. So you will find my Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit Chaplet is a little different than those chaplets of the same name. Apart from the ending prayer, I have written this entire chaplet with the Holy Spirit guiding me. The gifts are the same: Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, Fortitude (Courage), Counsel (Right Judgement), Piety (Reverence) and Fear of the Lord (Wonder and Awe). Each gift has a short meditation/prayer to fully gain its meaning, written in an easy to understand way.
